How Dibs treats the listing photos you ask us to watch.
What we promise
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We put the complaint together for you. You send it, under your own name.
- To find copies, we run the photos you picked through Google image search using a 3rd party vendor. No information other than the photo is shared with the vendor.
- We sometimes use an AI model to help judge whether a page we found is really a copy. When we do, that model sees your photos and the page.
- We email you for two reasons only: a password reset when you ask for one, and a note when a match is waiting for you. Both come from hello@calldibs.us, and you can turn the match emails off in Account.
- We keep your account until you ask us to delete it.

Who we are
Dibs is a small business in Los Angeles, California, built for Etsy makers. The site is calldibs.us.
What we collect
When you make an account we store your email and a hashed password. We cannot read your password.
When you watch listings we store the listing links, the titles and photos we pull from Etsy, the two photos you pick for us to search, the matches we find, and what you do with them: pages you hide, shops you ignore, your archive, how you marked each match (Stolen, That's my shop, or Not a match), and the dates you told us you filed.
If you connect your Etsy shop, we store the shop name and shop ID, plus the Etsy login tokens. Those tokens stay on our server and never go to your browser.
If you subscribe we store your billing status. Stripe keeps the card. We do not store the card number.
A cookie keeps you signed in for 30 days.
We do not run ads. We keep simple product counts on our servers (sign-ups, watching, searches, page views, which sites send people here, and which crawlers request pages) so we can see how the site is used. We do not drop third-party analytics pixels.
How we look for copies
To find copies, we run the photos you picked through Google image search using a 3rd party vendor. No information other than the photo is shared with the vendor.
We look up listing photos with Etsy's API, using our own key. If you Sign in with Etsy, we also list the active listings in the shop you connected.
Complaints
We put the complaint together for you. You send it, under your own name.
How we evaluate pages
We sometimes use an AI model to help judge whether a page we found is really a copy. When we do, that model sees your photos and the page.
There is no switch to turn that off today. If you do not want photos sent to a model, email us before you watch a listing.
We email you for two reasons only: a password reset when you ask for one, and a note when a match is waiting for you. Both come from hello@calldibs.us, and you can turn the match emails off in Account.
The reset link is only for the mailbox on the account. Match alerts use the same address. A stop-alerts link is on those emails.
How long we keep it
We keep your account until you ask us to delete it.
There is no delete button yet. Email hello@calldibs.us and we will remove your account and shop state by hand.
If you subscribe, Stripe sees what it needs to charge the card. We do not store your card number. If you cancel, we may keep your match history and filing dates. Evidence packets are built in your browser when you download them. We do not store the zip. If you connect your Etsy shop, Etsy sees what it needs to log you in and to list the active listings in that shop.
Age
Dibs is for adult Etsy sellers. Do not use it if you are under 18.
California
We do not sell personal information. If you want a copy of what we have, or want it deleted, email hello@calldibs.us.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that affects you, we will date it and, if we have your email, tell you.
